Mike was born in England, and graduated from both Brighton with BSc (Hons) in Building Science and Loughborough Universities with an MSc in Construction and Project Management.

Mike has since gained considerable worldwide experience in the property and construction industries, having worked in the UK, US and Australia in various capacities before moving to South Africa. He was appointed Project Director for Group 5 Properties, before founding his own company, Nixon Properties, in Johannesburg in 1991. The company was responsible for several large industrial / commercial and hotel developments during the 1990’s.

Mike moved to Cape Town in 1998 and together with Chris Drummond as co-owners of New Property Ventures undertook the investment and development of properties in the Western Cape. Today as sole owner of the company, Mike is focused on growing New Property Ventures’ commercial and retail property investments both in South Africa and the UK.

Mike lives in Cape Town with his wife and four children. He is a self-confessed “fitness junkie” with cycling being his main sport, followed by mountaineering and golf.
